It's Red Ribbon Week at Lead-Deadwood Middle School next week Oct 28-Nov 1. This year's theme is Life is a Movie - Film Drug Free. There will be Homeroom vs Homeroom competitions for dress up days and door decorating contests with bonus points throughout the week See pictures for further details and costume policy.

HEARING & VISION SCREENING
The Lead-Deadwood School District will be conducting its annual hearing and vision screenings next week for students in kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 11th grades. You will only be notified if your child's results fall outside the normal range.
If you do not want your child to participate in the screening, please contact your child’s school prior to the scheduled date. Otherwise, your child will be included as planned.

We will celebrate Senior Night at tonight's game vs New Underwood! It is also a Gold Rush night, so our first 25 MS/HS students at the game will receive a free t-shirt!
Before the football game last night our senior players were able to honor an educator that has made a difference in their lives. Educators honored were Kyle Kooima (HS Science) by JT Gifford and Connor Harrison, Shaley Lensgrav (HS English) by Phoenix Canida and Kari Mollman, Tom Paulson (5th Grade) by Beau Wichterman, Betty Campbell (HS Math) by Emily Farmer, Matt Campbell (HS Social Studies) by Cruz Mollman, Tony Altoff (3rd Grade) by Drew Janke, Chad McCarty (HS Industrial Arts) by Tanner Millard, and unable to attend was Courtney Pierce (HS English) by Peyton Pigsley.

Lead-Deadwood High School school will be conducting QPR training this week starting for all 10th grade students. This is an evidence-based training for youth and adults, that teaches skills in how to Question, Persuade, & Refer in a potential mental health challenge/crisis. The 6th grade students went to Outlaw Ranch last week. Students participated in horseback riding, archery, canoeing, and a challenge course. Thanks to the chaperones, PTO, and Walter Green Trust for making it possible!
