The Walter and Francis Green Charitable Trust is taking grant applications to provide funding for classroom instruction and community activities that will benefit the children and citizens in the Lead-Deadwood School District. Non-school district organizations and non-profits must have 501 c 3 status to apply.
The grants will be awarded based upon the criteria provided on the application. Grant applications may be requested from Dr. Erik Person, Superintendent or Mary Schumacher, Administrative Assistant, 320 S. Main St. Lead, SD 57754 or at 605-340-2221 or follow the link below. Completed applications should be returned to Mary Schumacher at the above address or by email to: mary.schumacher@k12.sd.us. The deadline to apply is March 18, 2026.

Friday, February 27th is the last day to turn in permission forms for the Delta Dental Mobile Unit if you would like your child to participate.
The Delta Dental Mobile Unit will be at the Lead-Deadwood Elementary March 9th–13th.

Parents need to come into the Elementary School March 2-18 and register their children for Kindergarten before a screening appointment can be made. Information needed at registration includes a certified birth certificate and immunization records for your child. These two pieces of information must be on file at school before entrance will be allowed.
Those students whose immunization records are not complete are eligible for registration, but immunizations must be completed and records in the school office before the first day of school for your child to begin.
Please allow one hour for the screening.
